Tattooing yourself or others before you are ready has professional and legal impacts which can hinder your career as a tattooist.
As a training provider we have an ethical responsibility to ensure our students are following best practice, and as such we ask students not to tattoo on human skill while they are on the course.
Whether your goal with learning to tattoo is to become a professional artist, or as a hobby, we ask all of our students to approach the course with a professional mindset.
A professional mindset isn’t about dedicating all of your time to the course, or about how fast you can get through it, it’s about:
Approaching your learning in a professional way - Don’t take shortcuts, do things the right way and focus on consistent improvement.
Considering your intent - Plan your learning and keep to the plan wherever possible, focus on making the time for your study.
Put the effort in - Fairly self-explanatory, try your best all the way through the course.
We ask that all students watch the course lessons all the way through, taking notes wherever necessary, and follow the drills and mat exercises in the way shown within the course. If you don’t watch the videos in their entirety, you will miss out on key information that supports your learning.
When working through the course, we expect all students to be undertaking the exercises more than once with the focus of improving your skills, until the mats display the skills from the lessons to the standard for assessment.
The team is here to help you, reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or feedback.
The Ben Fisher Team will be in the Facebook groups, have availability for induction and check in calls, and can be contacted via email to support your learning.
We are always trying to foster an open and supportive environment in our student communities, and we ask students to engage with the Facebook groups by posting their own work and progress, and by responding to other students' work.
Whether it’s constructive feedback, celebrating success, or supporting the community, we want all students to feel part of the Tattoo Method Pro family.
Assessments in the courses ensure students are provided with feedback at frequent intervals while studying, and we ask students to take the time to read the assessment guidance before submitting assessments, and the full feedback on marked assessments.
Learning a new skill can be tough and starting from scratch can be daunting, the feedback is provided to guide your practice and help you improve. There will be ups and downs, but room for improvement is not a failure - read through your feedback and if you have questions, get in touch with the team!
Most importantly, we want our students to enjoy learning to tattoo, so look at your progress, enjoy the process, and have fun!
